Brad Paisley or bust!

It's been a long time since I've last gone to a concert...come to think of it, before I had children so that's more than 7 years ago & that was a Dave Matthews one...Love me some Dave!

A threat of rain wasn't about to stop us...and it definitely wasn't going to keep me from wearing my new boots!  We shine up fairly well, wouldn't you say?

Then along came Brad Paisley, a group of great friends and some cold Corona...great combo for a great night!  If its one thing you have to do it's go to a concert in a Limo, wayy cool!  Plus you can pack a cooler and stop at Bojangles and REALLY turn some heads (note to self, you can get GRILLED chicken there, but it takes forever.....right Greg?)!   It's like a rolling tailgate party and you don't have to worry about driving. So, go big or go home and das how we roll!

The whole ride there was full of chatter about everything under the sun, a little spiking of drinks when people weren't looking (note to self: Tonya has eyes in the back of her head), a bit of business talk for a milla-second and of course picture taking (some deletions and retakes of course).  Not to mention Boom Boom Pow came on and of course everything good happens with that song, so I knew for sure we were in for a great night.

We met up with some ECCATS Staff (can't have a good time without them of course)!  Got me some Stephanie time:

Got a few smooches in with my squeeze, Matt:  Okayed by the man of course:

A lot of dancing, singing and even played a little Sippy Dippy (betcha don't know what that is...unless you're in college which I'm not and needed a little educating.  No pics on that LOL, but it did involve a flask :) Even got asked to dance by a Marine from Nebraska, the two step at that!  I kept up well given I spent from about the ages of 15 to 20 perfecting it....and yep that was okayed by the man as well (I felt hawk eyes on me the whole time and thank goodness the guy was a true southern gentleman and behaved...pretty sure TJ would've turned Hulk in .03 seconds flat if given the chance).

What a GREAT GREAT night.  I definitely needed it and was so glad to spend it with a great group of people!  Thanks a bunch Tonya, Chris, Christy, Greg, Bobbie, Bryan, Trellis (the driver), Stephanie, Trey, Warren, Matt, Andrea, Adam, Kim & Jessica for showing a girl a good time!  We will kick it again soon!

The End...or actually, just the beginning...stay tuned.
(PS - a special shout out to my Mom for watching the kids, YOU ROCK!)

The Chicken's are Escaping!

I'm sure I won't blog on a daily basis, but I definitely will when my kids have hilarious conversations or do fun things!

We live out in the sticks aka the country.  While driving the kids to school in the mornings we can get into some pretty funny conversations. Typically my radio is off just so I can hear the conversations between Peyton & Dylan and record them in my mind.

This morning, on our drive we passed by Lee's Country Kitchen.  Right beside that little country store is a field of horses and they have some other farm animals such as chickens.  Today, the chickens were out of the fence and standing beside the road.  This was our conversation:

Dylan:  MOM! THE CHICKENS ARE ESCAPING!
Peyton:  They need to fix that fence so the chickens won't get away!

Me:  Why do you think they are escaping?
Peyton:  Well, it's probably boy chickens trying to get away from the girl chickens.
Dylan:  Yea, and because the girl chickens want to kiss them.

Me:  Why do you think they want to get away from the girl chickens?
Peyton:  Probably because they have eggs and the boys don't want to help with them
Dylan:  I bet the girl chickens are mad!
Peyton:  I know they are, they're screaming at them to "COME HELP WITH THESE EGGS!"

Dylan: RUN BOY CHICKENS!
Me:  OMG I'm so glad I started a blog!

I think my life is a cartoon.

Random thoughts of a Sawyer kid

On the way to school this morning Dylan says, "I'm not going to listen to the Government or the Devil cause they want you to drive tiny cars!

Peyton said, "Yea, like that guy right there" as she points to a large man driving a tiny smart car the size of a hot wheels car!

Me: BAHAHAHA!!!

Dylan gets ready for Kindergarten!

I don't know about you, but I don't like telling my kids too far in advance that they are going to the Drs. for shots.  So, this morning Dylan found out when we got there.  He did great with the check up, eye & ear exams.

He liked that he's grown and weighs almost 40lbs!

He likes Mr. Joe too, we always get him and he's "cool".

BUT he was not thrilled about the shots.  However, he took it like a champ really.  You could tell he was nervous, but for the most part was a rock star!  He asked if TJ would cover his eyes for him so he didn't have to see.  So, first was the finger prick....little flinching, but not so much that he wouldn't stop watching Pheneas and Ferb.  Second, to the thigh.  He sucked in air, but was happy to get the Snoopy bandaid.  Third, to the right arm.  Again he sucked in air, didn't give a flip about Pheneas and Ferb anymore or the stupid bandaid.  Last, the left arm...the stinger.  Brought tears right away and he was NOT happy with anyone.  After the nurse left he said, "I'm not impressed"!  LOL!

But, he got a red Popsicle and that always makes things better, doesn't it?  My boy did much better than I...can't stand a needle! So, my boy starts Kindergarten this year, totally surreal.
